Capitals recreate iconic Stanley Cup championship celebration photos with adorable babies

The Washington Capitals return to the Stanley Cup playoffs Thursday, and ahead of the game, the Caps are introducing us to some of their newest and cutest fans: the babies born nine months after last year's championship win.

The team recently unveiled photos where they recreated iconic moments from last season. Like Alex Ovechkin cuddling the cup in bed and the Jimmy Fallon "cup stand" when players appeared on The Tonight Show.

Angela and Charles Leggett of Silver Spring, Md. were asked to be part of the photo shoot after Angela posted a picture of newborn Landon on Twitter last month.

"Landon was born on March 6 which is one day to the nine-month anniversary of the caps winning the Stanley Cup," said Angela.

"We had our own party and now we have our own little Stanley Cup trophy," said Charles.

The couple already has two young boys and said Landon was a surprise.

"He was not planned, but we're very blessed to obviously have him," Angela said.

She said Charles wanted to name the baby 'Stanley,' but she nixed the idea.

Katie Taylor, of Fredericksburg, Va. says her little one was also a "welcome surprise." She says her son, Braden, named after Braden Holtby, was born nine months to the day after the Caps win.

The Caps face off against the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday at 7:30 p.m at Capital One Arena.
