WASHINGTON - Pastor Lorenzo Sewell gave the benediction at President Donald Trump's inauguration, in which he thanked God for the incoming Trump administration and prayed "that America would begin to dream again."
Sewell says Trump spoke to him after the prayer, and say "You are special, you are amazing."
His prayer has gone viral after he included an homage to Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Junior’s I Have A Dream speech.
"The Bible is a political book," according to Sewell, an East Detroit native and pastor of 180 Church. He’s voted Republican his whole life and he hails from the East side of Detroit. His father is incarcerated for murder and he plans to visit him for the first time in the coming days.
Sewell joins FOX 5’s Tisha Lewis on The Good Word Series this Sunday at 9:30am on Fox Local! Here's how to download FOX Local on your smart TV and mobile phone.
