WASHINGTON - A woman devoured 21 burgers in just 10 minutes to win the eighth annual Independence Burger Eating Championship in Washington on Monday.
Molly Schuyler took down the competition to claim her third straight title with ease. The eating champ took home the hefty grand prize of $1,500 cash.
Schuyler, a native of Nebraska and mother of four children, is one of the top ranked competitive eaters in the world. She downed an impressed 429 Wings in 30 minutes at 2016 Wing Bowl. Two years ago, Schuyler ate three 72-ounce steaks in 20 minutes.
She said meat is the toughest thing to eat because of the potential choking hazard. But that hasn't stopped this 5'7", 120-pound woman from dominating the eating circuit during her 8,500-mile road trip.
"Last week, I was in up in Milwaukee and I ate 22.5 pounds of prime rib," she told us.
Why does Schuyler do this?
"It pays better than serving people at restaurants," she simply said.
