Woodrow Wilson Bridge reopens after suspicious package investigation
WASHINGTON - The Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge has reopened Thursday night after it was shut down to traffic for about three hours for the investigation of a suspicious package.
All lanes were closed in both directions after a brown cardboard box with red wires and duct tape was found on the southbound local lanes of the bridge at around 6:45 p.m. The bridge reopened in all directions just after 10 p.m.
Maryland State Police conducted the investigation and received assistance from the Prince George's County's Bomb Squad.
