Woman dies in Waldorf fire, Charles County's 2nd fatal fire of day

WALDORF, Md. - A woman with physical disabilities died in a Waldorf fire Wednesday afternoon, the second fatal fire in Charles County on Wednesday.

The Charles County Fire Department said they responded to the 11950 block of Goldie Farm Place at about 3:35 p.m. for a fire at a mobile home.

Investigators said a woman who was handicapped was asleep inside when the blaze sparked and did not make it out alive.

Fire marshals were at the scene investigating the cause of the fire.

Another fire was reported in Bryans Road at about 5:40 a.m. in the 1700 block of Marshall Hall Road. One person was pronounced dead in that fire and the cause of that blaze also remained under investigation.
