Woman dead in Northeast DC house fire

Authorities say a woman has died after being pulled from a house fire on the 2200 block of Lawrence Street in Northeast, D.C.

Firefighters were called to the house just before 4 a.m. Tuesday. Officials say one person was able to get out of the house and the woman was removed by firefighters. The woman suffered critical injuries and later died, officials say.

The woman has not been identified. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
