While most of the immediate D.C. area experienced rainy conditions, some parts where temperatures were at or below freezing saw an icy mix. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in place for D.C., central, northeast, northern, and southern Maryland, as well as central, northern, and northwest Virginia until 10 a.m.

An Ice Storm Warning is in effect for portions of north-central and western Maryland, northwest Virginia, and eastern and the panhandle of West Virginia until noon. Untreated roads, particularly bridges and overpasses, are expected to become slick and hazardous as ice accumulates.
There is also a threat of significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs, which may lead to power outages. The National Weather Service advises drivers to be prepared for slippery roads, slow down, and exercise caution while traveling.
