LOS ANGELES - Jared Leto is not down with the Suicide Squad!
Jared Leto told SYFY WIRE that he did not watch the highly controversial portrayal of The Joker, but this is his rule with many of his films.
"I just think with watching your own films, it can be too self-conscious of a process. You either like what you did and you're prone to repeat it, or you didn't like it, and it can make you self-conscious. I'm not sure how much win there is for me. But I read the scripts, so I know what's going to happen."
He made an exception for Requiem for a Dream and plans to do the same with Blade Runner 2049 which is out this week.
Jared Leto is known for his method acting and made headlines while filming Suicide Squad for his odd Joker-like behavior, such as sending the cast a dead pig and sending Will Smith anal beads and used condoms. He told E! News:
"I did a lot of things to create a dynamic, to create an element of surprise, of spontaneity, and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there. The Joker is somebody who doesn't really respect things like personal space or boundaries."
Sadly, his odd behavior didn't work in his favor because many did not like Leto's performance or the movie in general.
