Washington-Liberty High student sent home after anonymous shooter threat
Students at Washington-Liberty High School have been sent home for the day after an anonymous caller claimed there was a shooter in the building. While there is no evidence of an immediate threat, police are still investigating.
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Police are still investigating an anonymous report of an active shooter at Washington-Liberty High School and although there is no evidence of an immediate threat, the school says they will be canceling classes for the day as a safety precaution.
An anonymous call was received by school officials Wednesday morning, claiming there was a shooter in the school building. A representative for Arlington County Public Schools said the building was immediately secured following the call.

APS says students who walk to school have been dismissed and bus riders are being picked up, but students who drove to school will not be able to access their cars until the investigation is complete.
APS says anyone who needs to be picked up will be taken to Dorothy Hamm Middle School.
An update on the situation and the status of school tomorrow will be shared once the investigation is complete, according to APS.
