Warrenton CVS Pharmacy manager killed, body left near dumpster behind store

The death of a drugstore manager whose body was found next to a dumpster behind the store he worked at in Fauquier County Thursday morning has been ruled a homicide, according to officials.

The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office says 64-year-old Rex Mack Olsen of Reva, Virginia was killed with a gun.

His body was discovered behind the CVS Pharmacy at 510 Blackwell Road in Warrenton where he was a manager, according to officials.

Police do not have any suspects or motives at this time.

CVS said in a statement:

CVS Pharmacy is deeply saddened by the death of our Warrenton, VA store manager, Rex Olsen. We are fully cooperating with the Warrenton Police Department in their investigation of this tragedy.

Rex was a valued employee of CVS for 25 years and he was our Warrenton store manager since 2008. We extend our sincere condolences to Rex's family and friends, and our management team has contacted his wife to offer support. We want to thank the local community for their outpouring of support to our Warrenton store team during this difficult time. The company is providing additional support and counseling services for Rex's CVS colleagues.
