Virginia Tech student arrested for placing cameras in restrooms on campus

A student at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University was arrested Wednesday after police say he placed cameras in public restrooms around campus.

Andrew Wildman, of Blacksburg, was arrested in Falls Church on February 27 without incident following a thorough investigation, police say.

Wildman was charged with one count of Unlawful Creation of an Image of Another, a class one misdemeanor.

Assistant Vice President of University Relations Mark Owczarski says Wildman is responsible for two unlawful filming incidents reported on Feb. 7 and Feb. 21.
