CROSSLAKE, Minn. (KMSP) - A flyboard became an unlikely fire extinguisher when a boat caught fire in Crosslake in Crow Wing County. On Saturday, July 30, Paul Gavic and his family were outside on the dock when they saw a few boats congregating on on the lake. Gavic soon noticed one of the boats was smoking.
That's when he went out on his jet ski and his 22-year-old son Jesse Gavic flew over the boat on his flyboard to put out the fire. Gavic happens to be a very experienced flyboarder, having even participated in the world championships in Dubai.
Unfortunately the fire had already damaged the boat, but the Gavic family's quick action prevented the fire from spreading.
No one was hurt.
