DC police are conducting a death investigation after a man was pulled from the Potomac River in Georgetown on Thursday night.

A man has died after D.C. emergency crews pulled him from the Potomac River in the Georgetown area Thursday night.

Officials say the victim – who has not been identified – had been transported to land in "critical, life threatening" condition initially.

They say fire and rescue crews responded to the scene near the Key Bridge around 8:30 p.m. after a report of someone swimming in the river.
