U.S. Postal Service releasing stamps to honor military working dogs

The U.S. Postal Service says it will be releasing stamps to commemorate military service dogs.

U.S.P.S. is releasing four designs to honor four breeds: German shepherd, Labrador retriever, Belgian Malinois and Dutch shepherd, which commonly serve in America's armed forces.

The background of each stamp features a detail of a white star with a red, white, blue and gold background to represent the American flag and patriotism.

The stamps will be released in a booklet of 20.

The art was created by DKNG Studios. Art director Greg Breeding designed the stamps

Details will be released on dates and locations for the first-day-of-issue ceremonies, the Postal Service said.

U.S.P.S. says it will also be releasing a new Star Ribbon stamp, as well as designs honoring tennis champion Maureen "Little Mo" Connolly Brinker, the work of abstract artist Ellsworth Kelly, and the 150th anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad.
