Two dead after Charles County crash

BEL ALTON, Md. - A woman and girl are dead after a fatal crash Saturday morning in Charles County.

Police say it happened around 7:30 a.m. on southbound U.S. Route 301 near Mt. Air Road in Bel Alton.

Police say 31-year-old Pedro David Garcia of Yulee, Fla. collided into the back of a Toyota Corolla occupied by the woman and girl, who died at the scene.

Garcia, who refused treatment at the scene, was driving a GMC Yukon. Another woman who was driving the Corolla, 55-year-old Houssainatou Boiro of Hyattsville, is recovering at MEDSTAR/Washington Hospital Center. 

Anyone who saw the crash is asked to call police at (301) 392-1231. Police are still investigating.
