ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX35) - Operations at the Orlando International Airport were haulted for hours on Saturday, after police say a TSA worker jumped off a hotel balcony inside the airport.
Police say the man in his 40s jumped from a balcony at the Hyatt Regency hotel at around 9:30 a.m.
Officials say he was an off-duty TSA worker and that he died at the hospital.
Witnesses say people panicked causing travelers to run through security checkpoints without being screened.
As a result, everyone had to be re-screened, which caused dozens of flight delays and cancellations.
In a statement, TSA officials said, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the officer's family, friends and everyone in our TSA family."
