Trash truck fire spreads garbage along westbound lanes of the Dulles Access Road causing delays

An incident involving a trash truck caused delays early Monday morning near the Dulles International Airport after garbage and other debris were spread along the roadway.

Authorities believe a fire to a vehicle hauling trash led to the garbage scattering onto the westbound lanes of the Dulles Access Road at the Route 28 ramp.

Aerial images show a large pile of trash gathered at the Route 28 ramp onto the Dulles Access Road.
