WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A transgender woman is speaking out after she says a group of men robbed and beat her in the District.
Alicia Wood says she left work and was walking towards a convenience store at a gas station on Minnesota Avenue NE early Friday morning when the seven men approached. She says the men called her names and then followed her.
Wood says she managed to get up and run towards the convenience store. When she asked a man inside to help her, she says he ignored her.
Wood says three of the attackers walked in the store and again started beating her up, and this time, they stole her fanny pack that had her money inside, her phone, and I.D.
Police are now investigating, but so far no arrests have been made.
