Top Easter candy by state and other 2025 holiday trends, according to Google

Easter is this Sunday, and for those who celebrate, that means dying eggs, taking photos with the Easter bunny at the mall and getting baskets filled with goodies. 

Google observed search trends over the past month to see what Americans are looking up ahead of Easter Sunday. 

Take a look at some of these trends and maybe get inspired.

Top Easter candy by state

The top searched candy over the past month were those squishy marshmallows that have become almost synonymous with Easter were Peeps.

The second most-searched candy was "gummies," followed by a tie between peanut butter eggs, M&Ms, and jelly beans. 

Top Easter basket themes by state

The most searched Easter basket themes this year are very much a sign of the times.

The top search for basket themes were Hello Kitty, then a tie between Minecraft and Dinosaur, and followed by Bluey.

Americans also opted to DIY some of their Easter treats with searches for "peanut butter easter egg recipe" and "coconut easter eggs recipe" seeing an uptick in interest. 

And, according to the data, Easter baskets aren’t just for the kids (or adults). People in the U.S. searched for "cat easter baskets" and "dog easter baskets" over the past month.
