Teen inventors say color changing condom could detect STDs

A group of teenage inventors may have the answer to reducing the spread of STDs.

The teens, who took part in the Teen Tech Awards, introduced the concept for a condom that changes color when it comes in contact with a sexually transmitted infection.

Named the S.T.EYE, the color changing condom would be able to detect herpes, chlamydia, syphilis and the human papillomavirus, according to an online report by The Daily Mail.

Still a concept, the idea won the health award.

Teen Tech Awards helps teens explore career possibilities in science, engineering and technology.
