Surveillance video released in deadly Memorial Day weekend DC shooting

D.C. police have released surveillance video showing a vehicle of interest and two suspects involved in a shooting that left one man dead and seven others wounded in Northwest D.C during Memorial Day weekend.

The shooting took place on May 27 at around 12:59 a.m. in the 100 block of Q Street in the Truxton Circle neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old Algernon Harvey Jones, of Southeast D.C., dead at the scene suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Six other men and a woman were also shot and taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

In the video released by police on Tuesday, a black vehicle with tinted window is seen driving on Q Street approaching a parking lot outside of an apartment complex. Two gunmen, described as black males wearing dark clothing, are seen getting out of the vehicle and firing their weapons at a group of people gathered outside of the complex.

The group scatters from the area as the shooting takes place with some hiding behind cars. The gunmen then run back to the black vehicle before it drives away eastbound on Q Street.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Anonymous tips can be submitted to the police department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
