Summertime feel with temperatures near 80 degrees Monday; DC's cherry blossom still in bloom
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Temperatures in the 70s and 80s on Monday make it feel like early summer around the District. FOX 5's Mike Thomas says we'll have a mix of sun and clouds for most of the day with some late day showers and thunderstorms possible. Another warm day is expected on Tuesday before we cool down slightly on Wednesday.
Mike says the best chance for rain will come Monday evening between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. in southern Maryland and in Virginia's Northern Neck region. Another warm day with highs in the upper-70s is expected Tuesday with more hit-or-miss showers possible.
Cooler temperatures in the mid-60s on Wednesday before picking back up as we head into the weekend.
If you haven't had a chance to see D.C.'s cherry blossoms you still have time. FOX 5 visited the Tidal Basin Monday and the trees are still in bloom. This year has been an exceptional season for admirers of the famous blossoms with flowers lasting well past their peak bloom date.
