Summer-like warmth in DC region as temperatures near 80 degrees

Summer is here! Well, at least for today!

The warmest day of the year is upon us with temperatures that could hit 80 degrees in some parts of the region.

If we do hit the 80 degree mark in the District, it will be the first time since 1930 that we would have seen temperatures that high in the month of February. It would also be the second warmest February day of all time.

The record-breaking warmth is expected to hold through the afternoon when we could see rain showers move in. Then it's back to reality!

Temperatures fall Thursday and Friday as unsettled weather, including more late week showers, move in.
