Starved pit bull found dead in Northeast DC park

The Humane Rescue Alliance is offering a $5,000 reward after an abandoned pit bull was found dead in Northeast D.C.

The dog was discovered by Humane Rescue Alliance officers on Tuesday in the 2900 block of 20th Street at a picnic area in Langdon Park after the organization received an anonymous tip, officials say. It is believed the pit bull was left in the area sometime from late Monday to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers say the dog was likely confined in a home and starved for weeks or months.
