2 charged in killing of Springfield husband and wife

Two suspects are in custody in connection with the murder of a Springfield mother and father.

Fairfax County police say two suspects are in custody in connection with the murder of a mother and father in Springfield.

On Thursday afternoon, police released a photo of one of the suspects, Ronnie Keandre Marshall, 20. The other suspect has been identified as 19-year-old D'Angelo Strand.

Both suspects are from Fort Washington, but police caught up with them in Mount Vernon.

Marshall and Strand face charges including second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Investigators say the suspects and one of the victims' family members are co-workers.

They are still trying to determine a motive for the killings.

Suspects on the run after mother and father were killed in Fairfax County

The suspects are on the run after gunning down a mother and father in Springfield on Wednesday.

Investigators say they’re responsible for the murder of 55-year-old Edward McDaniel and 63-year-old Brenda McDaniel, a married couple with a military background, were gunned down in front of their Springfield home.

Police were offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of their killers.

The shootings were reported around 9:20 a.m. in the 8000 block of Flint Street on Wednesday.

$10K reward offered in Springfield double murder

Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect – or suspects – responsible for the brutal murder of a husband and wife in Springfield.

Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said officers had responded to the same home on Monday for a dispute and potential burglary. 

"I think there is a direct correlation to who was there Monday, was there today," Davis said.
