JOHANNESBURG, South Africa - A South African news reporter becomes his own story when he's mugged at gunpoint while reporting on camera.
South Africa Broadcasting Company Correspondent Vuyo Mvoko was just about to give a live report from Johannesburg when two men approached him. One of them was carrying a gun.
The cameras captured the scuffle.
Off camera, the robbers took three mobile phones and a laptop from Mvoko and his crew.
"Well I mean, I was literally seconds before going on air for the seven o'clock bulletin. I had just done one for half past six and the guys just came," said Mvoko
South Africa's out of control crime rate makes it one of the world's most violent countries outside of a war zone.
