Smithsonian, National Zoo to open on Tuesday

After 27 days of being shuttered during the partial government shutdown, some of the District's most popular attractions are once again poised to open.

Shortly after President Trump announced that the shutdown was over for at least three weeks, the Smithsonian and the National Zoo revealed that they would re-open on Tuesday - pending the resolution to fund the government.

The museums and the zoo closed on Jan. 2, joining a host of services that were unavailable during the shutdown.
