Silver Spring man gets 30-year sentence for strangling teenager
ROCKVILLE, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - A judge sentenced a Silver Spring man to 30 years in prison Friday for strangling a teenage acquaintance in his sleep.
22-year-old Tysean Lipford received the maximum sentence for second-degree murder. A jury convicted him of the crime in January.
Prosecutors say Lipford killed 17-year-old Christian Matthews of Gaithersburg with a choke hold in 2017.
The two knew each other.
