Senator Tim Kaine holds listening session on gun violence at Arlington school

Senator Tim Kaine visited a high school in Northern Virginia on Friday to answer student questions about gun violence and school safety.

Sitting at a teacher's desk, the senator engaged a classroom of students at Wakefield High School in Arlington.

The listening session came at the end of a week that saw thousands of students walk out of their classrooms across the country to demand action on gun violence.

"We've not had a floor discussion about this or meaningful floor debate since April of 2013 so it's now been five years," Kaine told FOX 5. "It's time to revisit because there's just been so many tragedies. Sadly, that debate was motivated by Sandy Hook but there's been so many tragedies since."
