Search for suspect after two shot in SE DC, police say

D.C. police are investigating and searching for a suspect after two people were shot in southeast Washington on Thursday morning.

Few details were immediately available, but police said a man and a woman were shot along 6th St. SE across from Charles Hart Middle School. Both victims were conscious and breathing following the shooting.

Police issued a lookout for a blue Nissan Sentra with Maryland tags in connection to the shooting, which was reported just after 10 a.m. The driver of that vehicle was said to be a black man with dreadlocks, but no further description was given. Police tweeted that the vehicle was last seen in the 3500 block of 6th St. SE heading toward the 400 block of Mississippi Avenue.
