Route 267 eastbound in Leesburg shutdown due to tractor trailer fire
LEESBURG, Va. - Officials continue to investigate a tractor trailer fire on Route 267 eastbound from the Leesburg bypass, Route 7 to Battlefield Parkway.
Drivers are advised to avoid this area.
Officials say the tractor-trailer had pulled over due to heavy smoke coming from the rear axle of the trailer. The driver of the vehicle was able to disconnect and separate the cab from the trailer as the flames spread through the trailer. The driver was not injured.
As fire crews continue to address the fire and assess the trailer's contents, the eastbound lanes of Route 267 will remain closed.
The cause of the fire continues to be under investigation.
