Rockville Pike in Bethesda open after crash involving a bus

Rockville Pike in Bethesda is open following a crash Thursday night involving a bus.

According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, the road closures began around 7 p.m. Thursday near Rt. 355 and Cedar Lane and a crash involving a bus and a light police. Several lanes were blocked after the crash. An official told FOX 5 that the driver was pulled free after he was initially pinned by his legs. The driver, and at least one other victim, were taken to a local hospital.

Police do not believe the injuries are life threatening.

Utility crews remained on the scene overnight making repairs to the light police and lines.

Traffic delays lasted through the overnight hours and into Friday morning before the road reopened around 10 a.m.
