Regina Hall hosted the 2019 BET Awards and put D.C. on the map! She touched on D.C.-centered issues with an incredible homage to the District.

"When I grew up, D.C. was chocolate city."

Amid the #DontMuteDC movement, the actress and comedian, who is also a D.C. native, took center stage to point out the impact gentrification has had on the community in recent months.

Inspired by Beyonce's Coachella concert-turned-Netflix hit "Homecoming," Hall kicked off the night with her version dubbed "Homegrown." The parody showed behind-the-scenes moments of her preparing for the performance and testing backup dancers on their knowledge of the District.

Come show time, Hall was joined by many D.C. natives including Taraji P. Henson, E.U.'s Gregory "Sugar Bear" Elliot and Jonathan McReynolds and James Funk, members of Rare Essence.

It was Beychella turned Moechella as Hall and Henson tore it up to E.U,'s "Da Butt," as well as a sound of "Do You Know What Time It Is?," and "Run Joe."

Three words: D.C. or nothing!
