Rainwater gushes through opening in roof of Virginia Square-GMU Metro station during downpour

ARLINGTON, Va. (FOX 5 DC) - Water gushed through an opening in the roof of the Virginia Square-GMU Station Monday as heavy rain moved across the D.C. region.

The video, captured by Niina Farah, showed water pouring through an opening in the roof an onto the tracks.

Trains could be seen traveling in the opposite direction as the rain water fell on the tracks.

Heavy rain moved across the region Sunday night into Monday morning causeing multiple high water rescues, road closures and traffic delays.
