LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - A reckless driving suspect led police on a 40-minute chase through the Compton area Friday evening before the driver and two passengers were taken into custody.
The suspect, at the wheel of a PT Cruiser, drove on the wrong side of the road, ran red lights and stop signs and nearly collided with several other vehicles before stopping at the intersection of Compton Boulevard and White Avenue in the unincorporated East Compton area.
Deputies had backed off close pursuit as the motorist, who was also suspected of possibly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, drive dangerously on freeways and local streets.

Los Angeles Sheriff's deputies are in hot pursuit of a reckless driver in the Compton area.
The pursuit began in Compton when the driver of a white PT Cruiser failed to stop for law enforcement.
There appears to be other people inside the vehicle besides the driver.
