Prince George's County police ID 2 victims in deadly crash

Prince George's County police have identified two of the three people who were killed in a crash in Seat Pleasant on Sunday.

According to police, 23-year-old Grecia Sanchez Cruz and 25-year-old Brenda Merlot of Crelin Street in Lanham were killed when their vehicle struck an embankment and flipped over.

They say the third victim's identity will be released once his family has been notified.

A fourth victim - who has not been identified - suffered injuries that police do not believe are life threatening.

Police responded to the scene at Martin Luther King Jr. and Glen Willow Drive around 3:55 a.m.

According to police, the victims were traveling south on Martin Luther King Jr. Highway when their vehicle went off the road.

Police are still trying to determine what caused the vehicle to veer into an embankment.

Investigators say the victims were not wearing their seatbelts.
