Prince George's County elementary school teacher arrested in prostitution sting
LANHAM, Md. - Police said they have arrested a Prince George's County elementary school teacher during a prostitution sting operation.
Martin Rye Brown is charged with two counts of prostitution and human trafficking after police said he solicited a prostitute and rented a room that was used for prostitution.
The 29-year-old Silver Spring man was arrested during a sting operation held in Lanham on Tuesday.
Brown is a teacher at Langley Park-McCormick Elementary School in Hyattsville.
Prince George's County Public Schools said in a statement:
"Prince George's County Public Schools is aware of the arrest of a Langley Park McCormick Elementary School teacher. We will cooperate fully with law enforcement in its investigation. PGCPS is not going to tolerate this kind of conduct. The district remains focused on our commitment to ensure a quality education in a safe environment for the children of PGCPS."
