Gusty winds bring down trees across the DMV

The extremely gusty conditions in the DMV on Friday brought down trees and caused damage across the region. FOX 5's Sierra Fox has the details.

An arctic blast that enveloped the D.C. area Friday, brought with it damaging winds and plummeting temperatures that caused power outages across the area.

The winter weather system left over one million without power across the country.

According to PowerOutage.US, as of Saturday morning. Virginia is reporting over 59,000 power outages across the entire state, Maryland has over 29,000 without power, and D.C. reports less than 10 without power.

The bomb cyclone that's moving across the D.C. will bring damaging winds. The widespread high winds could knock down trees and limbs and could cause damage to power lines and other electrical equipment.
