CENTREVILLE, Va. (FOX 5 DC) - Police say a man has been arrested for allegedly filming people at a spa in Fairfax County and sharing the videos online.
Officers say Kwame Anderson, 28, of Newport News, is facing three felony and two misdemeanor charges after unlawfully filming people at a Centreville spa.
In May 2018, police say an investigation began after a man found a nude video of himself for sale on a social media website. The man told police he could tell the recording happened at Spa World in Centreville.
Police say after the man discovered the video, he contacted Spa World management and let them know he had found the video of himself and others nude at the facility online. Spa World management then contacted police and they immediately launched an investigation which led to Anderson.
FCPD's Cyber & Forensics Unit analyzed evidence that dates back to 2012. They say the videos at Spa World started in 2014. Those videos showed 81 victims, including three juveniles, in 152 separate videos.
Police say they also recovered several videos that are similar in nature with 84 additional victims that were not recorded at Spa World. They are working with other law enforcement agencies to locate additional victims.
Anderson was transported to Newport News City Jail following his arrest. He is being held without bond.
His charges include the unlawful filming of a minor, unlawful dissemination of the videos and unlawful filming of an adult.
