Police have released surveillance video of persons of interest sought in the death of a local journalist in Southeast D.C.
Charnice Milton was shot and killed on her way home from work on May 27 in the 2700 block of Good Hope Road at around 9:40 p.m. Milton's parents say their 27-year-old daughter died while waiting for a bus in the area after a young man grabbed her to shield himself as a shooting took place.
Police say the newly-released video of 14 persons of interest was captured by nearby surveillance cameras nearby the shooting. They all appear to be riding dirt bikes or all-terrain vehicles in the video.
Milton wrote stories about the Ward 7 and 8 communities for the Hill Rag and East of the River newspapers. The D.C. native was a graduate of Ball State University and earned a Master's degree from Syracuse University.
