Police release composite sketch of Arlington attempted abduction suspect

ARLINGTON, Va. - Arlington County police have released a composite sketch of a suspect who attempted to abduct a woman on Easter.

Police said at around 2:32 p.m. on April 1, the victim was walking from the Virginia Square-GMU Metro station toward N. Oxford Street in Arlington when an unknown man made a sexually suggestive remark to her. But when she did not respond, the suspect ran up behind her and grabbed her arm, attempting to pull her towards his car.

The victim was able to release herself from his grip and she went home and called police. However, police said the man continued to watch her from his car until she entered her home. Officers searched for the man when they arrived at the scene, but they were unable to locate him.

Police said the suspect is described as a black male in his 20s between 5-feet-9 inches to 6-feet tall with shoulder-length deadlocks with red tips. He was wearing a black shirt, a light gray zip=up hoodie and dark gray sweatpants during the incident. The vehicle he was operating is described as an older, possibly late-1990s or early 2000s model pickup truck that was dark blue or black in color and looked "beat-up."
