Police locate mother, 4-year-old who were reported missing in Gaithersburg

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - UPDATE: Montgomery County Police say 38-year-old Jamayhla Ann Glassie and her 4-year-old daughter, Genesis Sandy, have been safely located.

EARLIER: Police are asking for help in their search for a mother and child missing from Montgomery County.

Officers say 38-year-old Jamayhla Ann Glassie was last seen with her 4-year-old daughter, Genesis Sandy, on the morning of Friday, March 1.

Authorities say they believe Glassie drover her vehicle to the Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg where it was later found. They say the mother and daughter may be headed out of the state to meet family or friends.

Glassie is from the 9300 block of Willow Creek Drive in Gaithersburg and is described as a white female, 5-feet-7-inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. Genesis is described as being 3-feet-tall and is possibly wearing a leopard or cheetah print winter jacket.

Investigators say family members are concerned for Glassie and her child's welfare. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 301-279-8000.
