BELTSVILLE, Md. - A 58-year-old Florida woman was killed after a single-vehicle crash on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, police say.
The deadly crash happened Wednesday at around 2:30 p.m. on southbound lanes of the roadway south of Route 197 in the Laurel/Beltsville area. U.S. Park Police say responding officers located an overturned vehicle in the wood line.
Officials say there were two people were trapped in the car. One of them was transported to Prince George's Hospital Center by helicopter while the 58-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A preliminary investigation reveals no obvious reason for the crash, and only the one vehicle was involved," U.S. Park Police said in a news release.
The crash remains under investigation.
