Police say two students have been detained pending further investigation. School officials say the school was placed on lockdown for about an hour.

Prince George’s County Police say they are reviewing social media video and school surveillance as part of this investigation.

A student FOX 5 spoke to said a student with a pocket knife pulled it out and started stabbing another student after getting mad.

FOX 5 spoke with parents in the community who say they are concerned for their children's safety.

"As a parent, you’re scared. I’m scared. I’m like what’s going on. You know the lines are jammed, I tried calling the school, they’re not answering. So my son is like ‘mom, this happened,’ he sent me the video of what happened," Anita McBride tells FOX 5. "It’s really sad that this has happened in this generation. Tomorrow’s not promised, I don’t know what these kids is on or what they’re doing. But it’s as much prayer as ever before. We gotta pray. It’s praying time like never before."

In a letter to the school community, school officials said they were "shocked" and "saddened" by the incident, adding that counselors will be available for students.

The school system says it plans to discipline the students involved.

Police have not indicated if any criminal charges will be filed in the case.
