Police: 5 shot overnight in DC
WASHINGTON - Police are investigating after five people were shot in four separate incidents overnight in the District.
Investigators say the shootings began around 10 p.m. Thursday when a man was shot in the 5000 block of B Street in the Southeast. The victim is expected to survive.
Officers say two men were shot around midnight on the 3600 block of Hayes Street in the Northeast. One of the victim was hospitalized in critical condition. The second victim is expected to survive.
A fourth person was shot around 1:15 a.m. in the 4200 block of 7th Street. Police say a man was hospitalized in critical condition and they are looking for a black male suspect, wearing a black hoodie and last seen driving a black Chrysler toward the area of Chesapeake Street in the Southeast.
A fifth person was shot around 2:10 a.m. Friday in the 4200 block of 7th Street. The victim of the shooting was conscious and breathing when police arrived. Investigators say they are looking for three black males wearing black masks in connection with the shooting.
All of the shooting are currently under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
