WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Pepco officials say an "in-depth investigation" is underway into what caused a power outage that left thousands of customers in the dark Monday in Northeast D.C.
Utility company officials said approximately 7000 customers were impacted by the outages. Power was restored around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday. An equipment issue is believed to have triggered the outage.
A planned outage on Tuesday morning was unrelated to the bigger outage, Pepco officials said. The planned outage impacted 300 customers. Officials say those customers had power restored by 7 a.m.
