A female pedestrian has been struck and killed by a vehicle in Rockville Monday evening.
Officials say the victim was hit in the 12600 block of Veirs Mill Road at around 5:55 p.m.
Police say the driver remained at the scene.
Police say the westbound lanes of Parkland Drive and the eastbound lanes of Veirs Mill Road between Parkland Drive and Robindale Drive were shut down due to the police investigation.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
