Pay It Forward: MyannasHeart gives kids in hospitals something to smile about

A little girl and her family are working to Pay It Forward by giving children in hospitals a reason to smile.

Myanna is just 7 years old but has undergone multiple major surgeries in her lifetime, including open heart surgery when she was just 5 months old.

Myanna wanted to make other children's experience in the hospital better so she and her family started MyannasHeart.

The organization delivers tote bags to kids being treated at Inova Children's Hospital. The goodie bags include blankets, toys, puzzles and a beanie horse, which is Myanna's favorite animal.

"She realized how scary the hospital was and she said, 'I want to make other children happy in the hospital' and we had to figure out what we could do to make her dream a reality," Myanna's mother Sheri Kempton explained.

FOX 5 and Easterns Automotive Group teamed up to help MyannasHeart on their mission to Pay It Forward.

Joel Bassam from Easterns Automotive Group surprised Myanna and her family live on Good Day DC with a trunk full of toys and supplies for their tote bags and a $1,000 check to help their cause.
