WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - The National Zoo has reopened for the first time since the government shutdown earlier this month.
FOX 5's Melanie Alnwick was at the National Zoo Tuesday morning when the Giant Panda exhibit reopened.
In addition to the zoo, all Smithsonian museums reopened Tuesday and the National Park Service says sites on the National Mall opened Sunday.
They closed weeks after the shutdown started in December over funding for President Donald Trump's promised U.S.-Mexico border wall. Trump on Friday agreed to end the shutdown for three weeks.
