Overturned tractor-trailer causes major delays on 495 in Greenbelt area

GREENBELT, Md. - An overturned tractor-trailer caused major traffic delays Friday on the inner-loop of Interstate 495 just after the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in the Greenbelt area.

The crash was reported around 6:30 a.m. on the inner-loop of Interstate 495 just after the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Images from SKYFOX showed miles of traffic backups due to the incident. The entire inner-loop of the Beltway was closed immediately following the crash.

Officials say one person was injured and was transported with life-threatening injuries. Hazmat crews were working to contain a fuel spill caused by the crash

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
